Tanzania strengthens green industrial ties at project Qatar 2025

Qatar. Tanzania has taken a bold step toward advancing its green industrial agenda by participating in Project Qatar 2025, a major international exhibition and conference on construction and manufacturing held from 26th to 29th May at the Doha Exhibition and Conference Centre (DECC) in Qatar.

Organized under the theme “Experiencing the Synergy of Construction and Manufacturing Innovation,” the event brought together governments, companies and experts to exchange ideas on the future of sustainable and technology-driven development.

The Tanzanian delegation was coordinated by the Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania in Qatar and included officials from the Ministry of Works, TANROADS, Tanzania Building Agency, and regulatory bodies such as the Architects and Quantity Surveyors Registration Board and the Contractors Registration Board.

They were accompanied by private contractors and engineering consulting firms, reflecting the country’s commitment to joint public-private sector development efforts.

Throughout the four-day event, Tanzania showcased its ambition to align national infrastructure development with modern environmental and digital standards.

The delegation engaged in structured discussions and business-to-business meetings with a range of Qatari and international institutions, including the Qatar Public Works Authority, the Qatar Electricity and Water Corporation, and the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

These engagements aimed to explore investment opportunities, technology transfer, and partnerships that could support Tanzania’s goals for cleaner, more efficient construction and manufacturing practices.

By participating in Project Qatar 2025, Tanzania joined a global conversation on how artificial intelligence, automation, and climate-resilient materials are reshaping the construction and manufacturing sectors.

Delegates explored how these innovations can support Tanzania’s growing demand for infrastructure while helping to meet national and global sustainability targets. The event also provided insights into the regulatory frameworks and financial mechanisms that other countries are using to support green growth in the built environment.

Tanzania’s presence at the exhibition sent a clear message that the country is open to learning, partnering, and investing in technologies that reduce environmental harm while supporting industrial progress.

The knowledge and relationships gained in Doha are expected to feed into Tanzania’s efforts to build a more sustainable and inclusive economy, especially as it expands urban infrastructure and industrial capacity.
