TADB Credits Capital Growth to President Samia’s Agricultural Reforms

Dodoma. The Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank (TADB) has expressed its gratitude to President Samia Suluhu Hassan for her continued investment in empowering farmers through the provision of input loans.

Speaking to President Samia during the climax of the national Nane Nane celebrations on August 8, 2025, TADB Managing Director Frank Nyabundege said the bank’s capital had grown from Sh60 billion in 2015 to Sh442 billion in 2025.

“Our bank will continue to sponsor the Nane Nane exhibitions for the next five consecutive years because this platform has played a major role in expanding our capital base,” Nyabundege emphasised.

He further explained that the total assets of banks in the country (balance sheet size) stood at Sh34 trillion when President Samia took office and had grown to Sh71 trillion by June 2025.

“This means our economy is growing because, upon taking office, you committed to economic transformation through the agricultural sector. We received capital injections, and sectoral ministries were also funded,” he noted.

Nyabundege added that this growth has strengthened the banking sector’s ability to finance major projects.

“When you came into office, banks recorded a profit of Sh474 billion after tax; last year, this rose to Sh2.15 trillion, and this year, we expect to surpass Sh2.6 trillion,” he said.

He also reaffirmed that TADB will continue supporting the international agricultural exhibitions up to the year 2030.

The guest of honour at the 2025 National Nane Nane celebrations was President Samia Suluhu Hassan.
