Dar es Salaam. The Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade) has received a prestigious award for outstanding environmental management from the National Environment Management Council (NEMC), marking a proud moment for the nation.
The award was presented during the closing ceremony of the 49th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), popularly known as Sabasaba.
The official handover was witnessed by Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa and the Minister for Industry and Trade, Dr Selemani Jafo. NEMC Director General Dr Immaculate Sware Semesi presented the award to TanTrade’s Director General, Latifa Khamis, in recognition of the institution’s exemplary environmental stewardship.
TanTrade earned this recognition for its firm commitment to maintaining clean, safe, and sustainable environments throughout the organization and management of the Sabasaba exhibitions.
Through effective waste management systems, strict environmental hygiene standards, and adherence to national environmental regulations, TanTrade has demonstrated strong leadership in promoting green practices within the trade sector.
